Product-Focused Full-Stack Engineer

I build software that turns real-world problems into products people can actually use.

I enjoy taking messy business problems, understanding how people actually work, and turning those problems into intuitive software.

Selected Work

Things I've built to solve real problems.

Featured Project

THEOS Enterprise

Business Operations Platform

I saw a gap in how an engineering business managed client visits, sales activity, product information and quotation workflows — so I built the system the business didn't have.

01

Operational visibility

Visits, clients, activity and pipeline in one place.

02

Product intelligence

Machines, assemblies, components and parts connected through the catalogue.

03

Quote workflow

RFQs connected to Sage quote references for traceability.

How I Build

I don't start with the code.
I start with the problem.

Good software starts with understanding. I work from the problem outward — shaping the idea, designing the experience, building the product and learning from what happens after it ships.

01

Understand

I start with the people, the process and the problem — not the technology.

02

Shape

I work out what actually needs to be built, what can wait, and where the real value is.

03

Design

I turn the problem into a clear workflow and an experience that makes sense to the people using it.

04

Build

I get hands-on across the stack and turn the idea into working software.

05

Ship

A product only becomes useful when real people can use it.

06

Improve

Real usage reveals what comes next. I learn, iterate and keep making the product better.

How I Think

I don't just want to build the thing.
I want to understand why it needs to exist.

Good software isn't just technically correct. It needs to solve the right problem, make sense to the people using it, and fit into the way the business actually works.

That's why I enjoy the space between product, design and engineering.

01

Solve the problem.

Don't build features simply because they were requested.

02

Keep it usable.

Complex business processes don't need complex interfaces.

03

Build for what comes next.

Products evolve. Good decisions leave room for them to grow.

About Chris

I've spent my career working close to real businesses.

I've spent much of my career working close to the people, systems and technology that keep businesses running. That experience taught me something I still carry into everything I build: software only creates value when it solves a real problem for real people.

Over time, I realised that the part of technology I enjoyed most wasn't simply keeping systems running.

It was creating things.

Taking an idea, figuring out how it should work, designing the experience and turning it into something real is where I feel most at home.

That's what has drawn me deeper into product engineering — the space where engineering, product thinking, design and real-world business problems meet.

Today, I'm looking for a team where I can do more of that: build meaningful products, work alongside strong engineers and designers, contribute to technical and product decisions, and keep growing while doing work I genuinely care about.

I don't build software because I enjoy writing code.
I build software because creating things is part of who I am.

Experience

Experience that sits close to the real world.

Let's Build Something

I'm looking for the next thing worth building.

I'm looking for a product-focused engineering team where I can contribute technically, influence what gets built, learn from strong engineers and help turn ideas into products that matter.
